Dive into the world of 261 Fearless

Meet Molly from our 261 Fearless Boston Marathon Team

"...you become Fearless and there is nothing that you can’t accomplish." Experienced ultra runner Molly Sheridan explains how running has made her fearless and how she can't wait to meet Kathrine Switzer.

How did you learn about 261 Fearless?

I learned about Fearless from following Kathrine Switzer over the years. She has always inspired me.

Why do you want to run for 261 in Boston?

Running 261 Boston represents everything I have worked for over the last ten years which is empowering women to walk and run for health and adventure.

What makes you Fearless?

I stepped out of my comfort zone as a novice runner at 50 years old (ten years ago!) to run Marathon Des Sables, 150 Miles across the Sahara Desert. I realized when you choose to tap into your mental strength, consistently train and focus on persistence, you become Fearless and there is nothing that you can’t accomplish.

What are you most excited about when it comes to the Boston Marathon?

Hanging out with a bunch of Fearless woman and meeting Kathrine Switzer. I’m so excited to be with this powerful women’s group.

What is your claim to fame?

I am the first American woman to run in the race event La Ultra The High; 138 miles nonstop in the Himalayas starting at 14,000 ft and running over two mountain passes at 18,000 ft. It took me 58 hours. My daughter Bailey was head of my crew. I’ve done over seventy ultramarathons around the world including the Badwater Ultramarathon; 135 miles nonstop from Death Valley to Mt Whitney.

I own a race management company in Nevada called Desert Sky Adventures that encourages people to walk and run for health and adventure.

Boston is a dream come true for me.
